Dne 3. dubna CWRG ve spolupráci s Centrem Strategických Regionů – CSR uspořádala přednáška prof. Lorenze Lüthiho: „Berlin and Poland, 1945-1990: unexpected connections.“

Lorenz Lüthi je profesorem historie mezinárodních vztahů na McGill University. Ve svém výzkumu se zaměřuje na rozsáhlý a mezikontinentální vývoj studené války. Vydal publikaciThe Sino-Soviet Split: Cold War in the Communist World (Princeton University Press) in 2008 and Cold Wars: Asia, the Middle East, Europe (Cambridge University Press), 2020.. Jeho současný výzkum se zaměřuje na Berlín ve studené válce.

Abstract:
„The Cold War history of Berlin focuses on the division of the city, the airlift, the wall, daring escapes, and spy exchanges. But the city’s history unfolds in the context of local, national, European, and global developments. From the very beginning, for example, Poland played a major role in the events in Germany’s former capital–politically, economically, and otherwise.“
