The Cold War Research Group collaborates with a number of foreign universities and institutions. Among the most important are the University of Oxford, the University of St Andrews, Utrecht University, Leiden University, Bayreuth University, the University of Fribourg, Wilson Center (Cold War International History Project) and Orient Institute Beirut.
