In cooperation with publishing house Epocha CWRG publish an edition „Studená válka – nové dějiny“ (Cold War – New History)

This edition is focused on a phenomenon of Cold War, whose effects still significantly affect the shape of today’s world. Current research has turned away from the steady perception of this decades-long conflict as a bipolar clash between the United States and the Soviet Union. The edition aims to present the Cold War in a professional form at the same time attractive to readers. In contrast to older approaches this edition looks at the Cold War from different perspectives and with special regard to the hitherto insufficiently mapped activities of other actors, especially former socialist countries including Czechoslovakia. The edition will focus on the impact of their foreign policy from the global perspective of the Cold War, as well as from the internal dynamics of individual regimes and their motivations for international activities. Chronologically, it is not limited to the traditionally defined period of the Cold War itself, but attention will also be paid to overlaps evaluating the consequences of this phenomenon for current events in the world. It is published in cooperation with CWRG, which is a part of the Institute for the Study of Strategic Regions (ISSR) at Charles University.
