Penny von Eschen presented her new book “Paradoxes of Nostalgia. Cold War Triumphalism and Global Disorder since 1989”. The professor of history and American studies at the University of Virginia is the author of the award-winning book “Satchmo Blows Up the World: Jazz Ambassadors Play the Cold War” (2004), which is already one of the foundational titles on American cultural diplomacy during the Cold War.
